Job Description

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Finance Manager, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. A master juggler working of multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to tackle big picture challenges.

You are both a manager and a mentor, providing financial leadership and analytical support to partners of the core Finance team as well as giving your own team the support they need to become financial gurus. You'll keep senior management informed on key financial metrics and work to improve financial operation practices throughout your region.

You will lead a team that provides financial insights into our global user care operations in order to make them even better. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the non-Ads related leaders of each segment of Google’s customer care organization, commonly referred to as Google Technical Services.
  • Manage business planning, analytics, and reporting; help drive monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning cycles.
  • Drive visibility into business performance and resource planning decisions and define and evaluate plans to improve customer satisfaction while containing costs.
  • Define and implement metrics that matter and reporting tools to provide insight into each area’s performance.
  • Partner with the Product Finance teams and offer insights into the trajectory of user care costs.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of relevant experience in finance, management consulting or corporate strategy.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting or postgraduate degree and/or CPA/CFA.
  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Business judgment, leadership skills, and ability to communicate with a management team.
  • Fast learner with a “get it done” attitude.
