We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join our team working on our residential real estate debt strategy. This candidate will support Asset Management activities. Possessing excellent communication and administrative skills, the Analyst will be responsible for a significant portion of the day to day functions of managing real estate debt facilities.
-Assisting in the direction and administration of all operations and processes of a portfolio of debt facilities backed by real estate assets
-Performing initial underwriting on new borrowers and assets, communicating results to management
-Actively monitor risk by identifying trends and potential issues with collateral or counterparties
-Communicating professionally with borrowers to effectively convey issues or requirements as well as coordinate the delivery of critical documents
-Verifying document inventory for newly pledged assets to ensure proper collateralization
-Monitor compliance of lending counterparties with all facility covenants and requirements
-Ad hoc research and financial analysis to support new business opportunities
-Preparation of presentations and executive summaries for delivery to senior management and investors
-Taking a proactive and innovative approach to enhancing processes
-Expected to perform under pressure in order to meet critical deadlines
-Work with members of other strategies as needed to provide support
-Undergraduate/Graduate Degree with a preferred major in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or other relevant coursework and a strong overall academic performance
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
-1+ year(s) experience in investment banking/capital markets or 2+ years in a credit underwriting role
-Residential real estate investment experience is strongly preferred
-Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
-Extremely accurate with a high attention to detail
-Ability to multitask and proactively follow up on outstanding items
-Highly reliable, possessing integrity and team-oriented
-Willing to work long hours, when necessary
-Efficient in time management, well-organized and competent in IT
-SAS Software Experience
