Purpose of the role

As a Funds-Under-Management (FUM) Analyst, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of FUM for the Group. This is a high profile role where you will produce and analyse core information. You will deal directly with employees at all levels within the business, including senior stakeholders (CFO and the wider executive team). You will develop a detailed understanding of fund structures, strategies and investment exposures and will be directly involved with both internal reporting to the business and external reporting to the market.

Specific responsibilities

FUM and Finance:

  • Accurate reporting of daily, weekly and monthly funds-under-management figures
  • FUM analysis and commentary including review of flows, fund performance and FX
  • Liaising with Middle Office teams to develop a detailed understanding of fund structures, strategies and investment exposures
  • Working alongside the Group's Sales team to understand what is in the pipeline and prepare FUM forecasts
  • Preparing Group internal sales commission calculations
  • Assisting with Group margin calculations
  • Various ad hoc projects, analysis and stakeholder queries
  • Continual assessment and implementation of improvements to the FUM process

Investor Relations:

  • Assisting with half yearly analyst presentations, quarterly trading statements, ad-hoc press releases and the annual report

Key competencies

  • Accounting or finance industry qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA etc or equivalent), ideally with 1 3 years PQE
  • Asset Management, Investment Banking, or a Big 4 background preferred
  • Strong excel skills (financial modelling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc)
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels, both within finance and the wider business
  • Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, and a willingness to take a hands-on approach
  • Must be forward thinking with high attention to detail
