Manager – ManufacturingIndustry

We are seeking a professional with 11+ years ofexperience in research, analysis, and business writing. The individual willwork to inform stakeholders across the industrial products and manufacturingecosystem of critical business issues including emerging trends, challenges,and opportunities. Especially, using primary research and rigorous analysis,the individual should be able to provide unique perspectives and be a trustedsource for relevant, timely, and reliable insights in the industrial productsand manufacturing sectors. He/she shouldbe the trusted source for information on leading trends and research thatconnect insights with solutions on the most prevalent issues facingmanufacturing.

Work you'll do

The professional willbe expected to manage as well as independently develop, write, and deploythought leadership pertaining to the industrial products and manufacturingsectors, bulk of which would be published externally. Thought leadership includesdeliverables such as in-depth research reports, client presentations, casestudies, articles, and blog posts that integrate research from both primary andsecondary sources. Examples of research sources include proprietary surveys, interviewswith subject matter experts and industry leaders, third-party databases andcommissioned research, and secondary research, such as analyst reports,government publications, presentations, industry commentaries, and newsarticles.

The professionalwill be expected to develop research ideas, frame hypotheses, analyzequantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, and demonstrate strongwriting, presentation, communication, and analytical skills. The professionalwill work with the India and U.S.-based colleagues, as well as senior leadersfrom Deloitte's manufacturing industry practice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Author/co-author thought leadership focused on industrialmarkets and manufacturing sectors
  • Deliver insights derived using advancedanalytic techniques, such as predictive analytics and text mining
  • Analyze academic literature, primary research,financial statements, case studies, and quantitative data
  • Present research proposals and findings to senior colleaguesand leaders
  • Lead and develop a team that acts as a center ofexcellence for the firm's research needs in the manufacturing space
  • Build effective working relationships with subjectmatter experts within the firm and the external marketplace
  • Work collaboratively with the US and India practiceleadership and other teams (e.g., marketing professionals, knowledgemanagement, public relations ) to prepare thought leadership deliverables
  • Own quality control of written deliverables executedby the India team members
  • Guide team members through project brainstormingsessions, reviews, and regular feedback
  • Identify and address development and training needsfor India team members, map their career paths, and elicit the best possibleperformance from each team member
  • Help team members with time management,prioritization, and project management

Requisite Core Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and criticalthinking skills
  • Strong knowledge of the US/global industrial productsand manufacturing sectors
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and strong team player
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (strongstatistical analysis skills are preferred)
  • Extensive experience in one or more of the followingresearch methods: Primary research (surveys, interviews), financial analysis,secondary research, data analysis, and case study research
  • Strong business writing skills-ability to develop anappealing, succinct narrative. Should be able to convey complex research ideasin a compelling manner. Journalistic and narrative style of writing ispreferred along with prior experience in report-writing and research reportdevelopment
  • Demonstrated experience as a teamleader and managing midsized teams – creating a positive team environment,meeting client expectations, and providing candid, meaningful feedback in atimely manner
  • Strong experience in identifying andaddressing client needs, developing and sustaining client relationships, and demonstratednegotiation and persuasion skills
  • Strong presentation and verbal andwritten communication skills, and experience communicating to, and working with,virtual teams
  • Ability to develop compelling and analytical datavisualizations using one or more software tools, such as Excel, Tableau, PowerPointor others
  • Accustomed to working in teams, including virtualteams. Highly developed personal and professional ethics are expected
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
