Aon Hewitt are currently recruiting a Assistant Portfolio Manager to join our team in London. The Assistant Portfolio Manager will be primarily responsible for assisting in the management of individual client portfolios and assisting class funds as well as portfolio analysis and commentary.

About the Role

As a Assistant Portfolio Manager some of your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Input into portfolio construction for both client and fund-of-fund portfolios
  • Research and analysis on third party funds
  • Ensuring efficient implementation of Aon’s best market and manager views in delegated client portfolios
  • Working with and meeting third party fund managers in relation to client investments
  • Preparation of fund attribution and commentary for Portfolio Managers
  • Daily cash and exposure management of client portfolios including monitoring of client specific mandate restrictions
  • Assisting in the transition of client portfolios into the delegated structure
  • Contributing to idea generation and new fund launches
  • Ad hoc project work
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

About you

As a Assistant Portfolio Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Some progress towards a recognised (FCA/CFA) investment qualification
  • Excellent numerical ability and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg/FactSet preferred
  • Basic knowledge of major asset classes and a general understanding of macro-economic trends
  • Knowledge of the UK institutional pension fund market preferred
  • Knowledge of VBA or other programming languages an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Team player
  • Proactive and self-starter
  • High attention to detail
  • Can effectively prioritise and manage workload
